The Flint & District Beekeeper Association advocates acquiring bees local and from within Flintshire to best succeed with newly hived bees.

Members and the Association prepare NUCs of honey bees specifically for new beekeepers.

The 5/6 Frame NUC of bees will be:

• a clearly marked 'this years' local queen
• will have brood and eggs at all stages
• will have at least 3 to 4 full frames of bees
• will have been treated for the Varroa mite
• will be ready to transfer into a British National Hive
• a good temperament suitable for beginners

The bees will be ready for ownership (weather and season permitting) in late May to late July / early August.
